Flight Opportunity: New Cylinders on 66V a Cessna 172N

Carson City → 25 hours

We’re looking for members who enjoy purposeful, by-the-book flying to help us complete approximately 25 hours of engine break-in flying following the installation of new cylinders on our Cessna 172N with the Lycoming O-360-A4M. This isn’t sightseeing or endless pattern laps, it’s structured break-in time: longer legs, higher power operation, attentive engine management, and disciplined flying to properly seat the rings and stabilize cylinder temps per Lycoming guidance. One pilot can fly as many of these hours as they’d like, but we’re also happy to have multiple members share the flying if more than one person wants to help knock it out. If this kind of mission sounds fun to you, and you like the idea of directly supporting the long-term health and performance of the airplane, we’ll include links below to Lycoming’s break-in and new-cylinder guidance so you can read exactly what’s involved before jumping in.

If you’re available and interested, see the front desk or email casrson@highsierrapilots.club
