This safety meeting will focus on techniques and practices for safely operating around convective weather in the Sierra Nevada. Topics will include weather briefing resources, identifying developing convective activity, route planning, altitude selection, in-flight weather avoidance, communication and diversion planning, and maintaining safe margins while flying in mountainous terrain. The discussion will emphasize practical decision-making, situational awareness, and strategies pilots can use to safely navigate changing weather conditions in the Sierra.
